Dick Ireland - President I joined Eastleigh in 2004/5. I am married to Christine and have 2 sons and 2 granddaughters. I spent my working life in the Logistics industry and held various offices in the Road Haulage Association at local, area and national level. At home I joined the Parent Association at Thornden School and held various offices including that of Chairman. Chris and I both became involved with scouting and each held office in the 4th Chandlers Ford Group. Since joining the Rotary Club of Eastleigh I have chaired various committees, particularly Service and Projects where we organise our fundraising activities. I became President for the first time in 2007/8 and now look forward to my second term when I hope that the Club can move on by introducing additional younger members and by developing a closer cooperation between local clubs. This will not only be for the overall benefit of those who become involved and Rotary as a whole but will hopefully bring benefits to our community by enabling us to be more ambitious in the projects that we can organise. I have also served on the Committees for 2 District Conferences organising the House of Friendship. Chris and I have made a large number of friends since I joined Rotary and she joined the Inner Wheel Club. I believe that it is an ideal way to meet and have fun as well as knowing that our efforts are doing some good locally and abroad.
Val Down - President Elect I joined Eastleigh Rotary in January 2009 and during the past 2 years I have enjoyed meeting fellow Rotarians and their families.I took on the role of International Chair and my main tasks have included overseeing any disaster appeals with the provision of Water Boxes and Shelter Boxes as necessary. I have also thoroughly enjoyed looking after the annual Christmas Shoebox Appeal, which has brought me into contact with local schools, services and businesses, which have helped with donations of all kinds. I run my own Training & Development business – ACT-On Solutions and my other interests include walking and gardening but not necessarily at the same time.

Jenny Todd - Secretary
Jenny joined Rotary in March 2009. She has lived in Chandlers Ford for over 20 years and runs her own Bookkeeping company. When asked why she wanted to join Rotary her reply was that she wanted to do something for the community. In her first year as a Rotarian she has taken part in many of the fund raising activities, one of the most memorable was ‘Kids Out’ which has Rotarians from Hampshire, Dorset and the Isle of Wight helping at Paultons Park for a fun day for various groups of children across the area. Whilst the day was very hard work the look on the children’s faces made it all worth while.
Jenny took on the role as Club Secretary in July 2009 and with the help of the past Secretary and members she has managed to master most of the tasks even bringing the clubs details up to-date on the RIBI website! With the aid of the internet the Club Secretary job has become easier so emails to all the club’s members giving meeting details and reminders have become a weekly event. Jenny is not a person who enjoys public speaking, as the job of Club Secretary means reporting to the Club members various news items at the monthly business meetings members are amazed at how briefly this can be achieved! When the club held a Burns Night dinner recently Jenny was presented with the ‘Best Scottish Outfit’ award some members thought that a speech was forthcoming but alas a very brief ‘Thank you’ was all that was offered!! It did make everyone laugh though.
